Hi Friends,

After some initial feedback, it has come to my attention that this micro-site is a bit unclear especially regarding what the call to action is exactly- well here it is- I urge you to do two things:

1-We have a very reasonable goal of $250 with the intention that if 10 friends donate just $25 (including me, which I did) we could reach or surpass our goal!!

2- Please pass along to any friends, coworkers, church friends, classmates or other people that may be interested in pitching-in and urge them to join our team, pledge $25 and donate to help feed hungry children in our community throughout the summer months.

$1 = 3 meals at Three Square so even the smallest donations are appreciated and help so much!

Summer: The Season of Childhood Hunger

Summer hunger affects thousands of children. During the school year, nearly 150,000 children in Clark County alone receive free meals—that’s 48 percent of the students! And 63 percent of U.S. public grade school teachers say they buy food for hungry students every month. When school lets out for the summer these children need alternative sources of nutritious food.

The research is clear: for children, even short periods of food insecurity can cause long-term health effects.

Summer Lunch League teams—and your generous donations—will provide a steady source of supple-mental food for at-risk kids in Southern Nevada.

What is the Summer Lunch League?
The Summer Lunch League is a community-wide program to provide food for hungry kids during summer when the need is greatest.

Participants are joining together in teams to raise money, have fun, and make a difference for a good cause. Leaders in the faith and business communities, as well as individual “All Stars,” are organizing teams, participating in teams, and spreading the word.

$1= 3 meals
300,000meals

For every $1 we receive in donations, we are able to provide 3 meals to children and families in need. Our goal is to raise $100,000 which provides more than 300,000 meals.
